BITFIZZ BATTLE: The 'Guns, Mayhem, And Jank' Of Project Dragon Are Because Of A Bad Batch Of Bitfizz Soda!

Forget the cola wars of the 1980s. The "guns, mayhem, and jank" of Yuga Labs’ Project Dragon are brought to you by a beverage called Bitfizz, and the Yugaverse will need to pick their flavor and fight for it on the Otherside this Saturday!

On Tuesday, Yuga Labs released a new teaser trailer for the first-ever Project Dragon action game event, narrated by the Bored Ape Yacht Club’s mascot, Curtis.

“Choose a side. Drink Bitfizz. Join the Fight,” Yuga Labs tweeted from its Otherside account. “Project Dragon - Event 1 July 27th, 2024 12pm ET.”

In the nearly two-minute-long trailer, Curtis welcomed the community to Meetropolis and explained that the WAGMI vibes of 2021 are gone and things have recently worsened due to a bad batch of Bitfizz. 

“Something’s off with the latest batch of Bitfzz,” Curtis said. “Two new flavors of Bitfizz have the local populace embroiled in a psychotic tribalistic deathmatch with each faction staking a claim over the city. It’s really awful.”

During this weekend’s Project Dragon event, the Yugaverse will visit Meetropolis, choose which side of the cola war they are on—Aquamarine or Orange—and fight alongside their friends in a groundbreaking action game with over 3,000 concurrent players!

“Project Dragon starts this Saturday at noon ET,” Yuga Labs CEO Gaga tweeted after the new trailer dropped. “What is it? It's a 2 hour event featuring first-of-its-kind action gameplay with thousands of players in the same place. Games like Fortnite cap out at 100 players per match. Project Dragon can support 3,000+. So, it will be chaotic as FUCK. Let's get a disclaimer out of the way: This isn't a super polished shooter. It's a few months of work. But what we're doing is flexing the capabilities of Otherside to the max.”

 

 

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, this Saturday’s event kicks off a yearlong, 12-part action game series with an overarching storyline by Yuga Labs co-founders Gordon Goner and Garga. Bored Apes and Meebits can play as their PFPs, Mutant Apes can play as a Mutant Ape version of Curtis known as Murtis, and Voyagers, Kodas,  Kodamara, Grailed, Moonbirds, and HV-MTL holders are all invited to ape in!
