BORED AND BIDDING: Yuga Labs' GrailsOTC Enters The Swamp Market And Will Now Be Bidding On Rare Primates

Bots beware! Yuga Labs has officially entered the swamp market as a buyer and will now be bidding competitively on primates with the goal of getting them into the hands of collectors.

Whether you've been in the Bored Ape Yacht Club since mint or just arrived today, you've seen it happen: a rare or aesthetic Ape gets sold to a bot for a low price, only to get flipped to a true collector moments later.

But that ends now with the launch of Yuga Labs' own bot, which will either help collectors get a deal or generate profits that benefit the Club!

“GrailsOTC BAYC bidding bot is live,” Yuga Labs tweeted. “The goal is simple. Bid competitively and place those apes in the hands of long term collectors.”

Today’s GrailsOTC BAYC bidding bot comes to market just nine days after BAYC member Del Broko recommended that the Club build one. Yuga Labs CEO Michael Figge quickly agreed and got to work.

"We got a suggestion that we needed a trading bot that benefits the club, and I think that’s a really great idea,” Figge said at the time. “The idea there is that there are certain things, on a trait basis,  that should not go straight to the floor. There should be people ready with a commensurate bid…. There’s a lot of people always talking to GrailsOTC about specific traits or combinations. So if we already know there is a buyer, then we feel more comfortable putting in offers the same way a bot would. And if there is a spread or margin to be made, then that’s just stuff we can put back into the ecosystem!”

The Gazette will continue to follow GrailsOTC and will let you know how Yuga Labs’ Ape buying bot performs. Stay tuned for updates!
