DELAYED: The Bored Ape Yacht Club Delayed The Summoning Event One Week. Here's What We Know So Far:
The conditions for the Bored Ape Yacht Club’s highly anticipated Summoning event are no longer ideal for March 8th, so the club has postponed the event a week.
“After internal review, we’ve decided to push The Summoning a week to March 15th,” the BAYC tweeted this afternoon. “We want to ensure all holders can enjoy their Power Sources and what’s to follow. Toad Mode score review is still on track to be completed by March 7th.”
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Sewer Pass holders who participated in the first DooKey Dash skill-based mint, and recorded a score, will be able to summon a power source during the event.
“Any Sewer Pass that was used to play Dookey Dash during the January 19th through February 8th period that has a frozen score tied to it will be eligible to summon a power source in return,” Yuga Labs wrote on its DooKey Dash FAQ page. “The traits of what you summon are associated with the highest score from your Sewer Pass’s frozen score.”
At this time, not a lot is confirmed about the power sources, but Yuga Labs has explained that each summoned power source is unique. “Every summoning will result in a unique power source that will consist of traits of varying rarity,” the company wrote. “Your power source won't look exactly the same as any others.”
While nothing about the Summoning event is explicitly confirmed, many in the community believe that Sewer Pass holders will be summoning the Mecha apes that Gary the Dog Prophet drew after he licked a toad on January 19th, based on tweets from the club’s Co-Founders.
“Get in nerds we’re going to summon something,” Garga tweeted on January 19th as he retweeted Gary’s drawing.
The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow the Summoning. Stay tumed for updates!
