From a once in a “Skelemoon” moment to an extraordi-Normie move, NFT collector Adam Weitsman just became Normies’ biggest holder in a deal that was anything but normal!

On Tuesday, Weitsman acquired 300 NORMIE NFTs in an over the counter aqusition facilitated by the project’s founder, Serc, making the notable collector the single largest holder of pixelated people in the world!

“This isn't just a purchase. It's a statement,” the Normies tweeted following Adam’s aqusiton. “A commitment to the art, the on-chain culture, innovation and the community that has been building Normies from the ground up. Adam is known for collecting with conviction, he buys what he believes in and never sells. Having someone with that philosophy choose Normies speaks volumes about where this project stands and where it's going. To our community: this is what happens when you build something real. The right people notice. Welcome to the Normies, Adam. We build together.”

As the Gazette previously reported, Normies launched in mid-February as a collection of 10,000 onchain generative pixelated faces.

But what makes the project stand out is its unique burn and customize mechanic, which allows holders to modify one Normie by burning another, gradually reducing the total supply. In just a few weeks, the collection has already dropped to 8,529 pieces, according to OpenSea.

Prior to today’s deal, Weitsman used this mechanic himself by burning 50 Normies to create a 1/1 “Skelemoon” piece in collaboration with artist A.C.K.

For Serc, having Weitsman collect his work and actively use the mechanics he designed to push the project forward, has him over the moon.

“This is more than buying 300 NFTs, for me this is showing strong support, believing in the future of Normies,” Serc said. “Adam is one of the most humble human, true patron and real supporter. I couldn’t be more happy than seeing someone like Adam supporting what we are building with Normies. Welcome Adam, this is the first step of what we are going to achieve together.”

The Gazette will continue to follow all things Normies and will keep you posted on what’s next for the black and white collection. Stay tuned for updates!
