FROM ONCHAIN TO OUTER SPACE: Clutch Markets Is Sending NFTs Into Deep Space With Its First Contact Project Starting Tomorrow!

NFTs are going to the moon, literally!

On Wednesday, Clutch Markets will launch its new First Contact Project in partnership with Arbitrum, the Mutant Cartel, and Novel Productions, an all new protocol that gives anyone with a J-PEG the chance to broadcast their NFTs into the vastness of space.

“The First Contact project is a special build designed to expand our reach and voice to users both inside and outside the crypto space,” Clutch Markets Founder 0xSimpleFarmer wrote. “For onchain users, it creates a way to immortalize their NFTs through space and time by paying an onchain message fee in $K9, allowing their NFT to be transmitted into deep outer space.”

 

 

As the Gazette previously reported, $K9 is Clutch Markets’ recently created ecosystem token tied to the platform’s Pixel Pups NFTs, with each dog worth one million tokens, and vice versa. First Contact is the first of many use cases designed to give the token utility and potentially increase the value of both the token and the NFTs.

Tomorrow’s space mission isn’t some novelty or theoretical idea, it’s a real, measurable transmission that users will be able to track, verify, and follow as their NFTs are broadcast into deep space. That’s one small step for J-PEGs, one giant leap for NFTs!

“By verifying the transaction timestamp onchain and calculating the distance traveled using the speed of light, we can measure exactly how far each transmission has gone,” SimpleFarmer said. “That gives the crypto community a chance to become the first onchain user base to not only make its voice heard beyond Earth, but potentially become the people who make "first contact" with a sentient species outside our solar system. As long as the internet and humanity continue to exist, NFTs continue to exist with them.”
