GET WELL GORDO: Yuga Labs Co-Founder Gordon Goner Canceled His ApeFest Plans Due To His Health.

Bored Ape Yacht Club members will have to give Garga some tickles for Gordon Goner after the Yuga Labs Co-Founder announced he had to cancel his ApeFest plans due to ongoing health issues.

As Apes worldwide prepare to attend ApeFest 2024 later this week, the ‘ApeMan’ himself, Gordon Goner, sadly announced that he’s not well enough to travel and won’t be able to make it to ApeFest 2024.

 

“Hey apes I’m sorry, but not feeling well enough to make it overseas right now,” he tweeted. “Feel awful about making the call last minute, was hoping things would turn around, but no luck. Know Greg and the team will kill it this year. The event space looks great, the merch is our best yet, and I think it’s going to be an incredible time. Will join in from the @OthersideMetaexperience. Safe journeys to everyone and make sure you tickle Greg for me, my guy has literally no issues with physical boundaries and loves a good surprise tickle.”

 

Following Goner’s tweet, Apes filled the comment section with well wishes and inquiries about the best spots to tickle Garga.

 

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Goner first revealed his diagnosis of congestive heart failure and his decision to take a break from his role at Yuga Labs on January 28th, 2023.

 

“Some heavy news,” Goner tweeted at the time

. “A few days ago I was told by my doctor I have congestive heart failure. Symptoms started last year out of the blue and I put off seeking help (like an idiot) so I could keep working. But after testing, my doctor called and asked me to radically change my life. Firstly: my symptoms are still mild. Stairs wind me. I can’t play with my dog or exercise. I can go on walks, travel, and live a mostly normal life. But the condition is progressing pretty fast and that means I need to make some serious changes.”

 

Since that announcement, Goner has “returned to monke,” buying millions of dollars' worth of NFTs last November and starting work on a top-secret treasure hunt that’s going to take a while.

 

"I am 95% working on this one project, and it's for apes, It's going to take time,” he wrote in April 2024. “Months. But I think it's going to be the biggest thing to happen in this space since BAYC itself. I've been cooking on this idea for two years.”
