GIVING BAYC: Yuga Labs Is Inspiring Kids To Ape Into Digital Art With Its Latest Donation To Miami's Big Brothers Big Sisters Program
Yuga Labs is giving BAYC to the city that inspired the company’s four founders to create the Bored Ape Yacht Club by donating a million dollars to the Magic City’s Big Brothers Big Sisters program to encourage kids to ape into digital art!
“Building a more diverse web3 starts at home with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami,” Yuga Labs tweeted in a three-part thread on Thursday. “Miami, Florida is the birthplace of Yuga Labs and yesterday we completed our third installment of a $1M commitment to support arts and education initiatives with BBBS of Miami in our hometown. The partnership will host workshops with guest artists to encourage diverse perspectives and provide their technology lab with iPads & software for students to explore creativity through digital art. We are honored to give back to the city where BAYC was born and pave the way for a better web3.”
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, The Big Brothers Big Sisters program will be using these iPads and Apple pencils to make art in a collaborative way that will culminate in teaching everyone how to mint an NFT.
“So stoked that we can help promote art+tech education for kids in my hometown,” Yuga Labs Co-Founder and CEO Garga tweeted on Wednesday. “Funding a program for digital arts at Big Brothers Big Sisters in the same neighborhood where my mother got her first job at 13 (Burger King). Thank you @coryvanlew for teaching the first lesson and shout out @illaDaProducer for organizing the program.”
The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow Yuga Labs’ work with the Big Brother Big Sister Club and will keep you posted on all their philanthropic efforts. Stay tuned for updates!
