From the hockey rink to the football pitch, the Pudgy Penguins are trading in their skates for cleats and heading across the pond this month in a new partnership with Manchester City!

On Thursday, crypto’s cutest brand took to the timeline and announced that Pengu will be taking the field in the Premier League this weekend after teaming up with the reigning English football powerhouse to create collectibles that are sure to have fans screaming GOOOAAAALLLL!

“We’re excited to announce that we will be collaborating with Man City on a premium collectible and merch release to bring Pengu to the millions of Man City fans around the world,” Pudgy penguins tweeted. “Working with Man City on this high-end collectible and merch drop will bring Pengu to their fans globally, while also introducing Man City to the wider Pudgy Penguins audience.”
Tonight, while we don’t yet know every product Pudgy Penguins and Man City are creating together, we do know the drop is set for January 17th, and that a soccer playing Pengu figurine is in the works.

Today’s Man City partnership is just the latest high motion move to come out of the igloo as Pudgy Penguins continue to waddle deeper into mainstream sports and dominate the winter season.
“This is a great kickoff to our European and UK winter kickoffs,”Pudgy Penguins Head of Partnership Steve Starobinsky tweeted. “ 2026 will def be the year of soccer, and this is a great bet for Pudgy ahead of the heated Manchester derby.”
As the Gazette previously reported, Pudgy Penguins’ cultural presence has been cold as ice lately, with the brand huddling up at Art Basel, appearing on the Las Vegas Sphere at Christmas, hosting a booth at the NHL Winter Classic in Miami, and gearing up to drop a Valentine’s Day boutique of plushie Pengus next month.
Looking ahead, Pudgy Penguin holders and Web3 at large can expect even more from the Penguins when it comes to partnership and proliferation, according to the brand’s Chief Creative Officer, ChefGoyardi.
“This year we’ve bunkered down on monetization through brand deals, IRL activations, and a some trendy products we’re launching in a bit,” he teased earlier this month.
The Gazette will continue to follow the Pudgy Penguins x Man City merch drop this weekend and will let you know when more information becomes available. Stay tuned for updates!
