From the huddle to the pitch, the Pudgy Penguins are shouting “gooooal” as they waddle their way into a new collaboration with Manchester City and it’s a total kick!
On Wednesday, the Pudgy Penguins crossed the pond and took the field in the Premier League, teaming up with the reigning English football powerhouse to drop one of the cutest collectible sets ever.
“The Pudgy Penguins @ManCity premium collectible and merch set is now live,” the Pudgy Penguins tweeted. “Get yours below.”
The set costs $199 USD and includes a Manchester City hoodie featuring the Pudgy Penguins’ mascot, Pax, along with a collectible clock that’s perfect for fans of NFTs and football.
“Pudgy Penguins X @ManCity is A LOT bigger than you think,” Pudgy Penguins Community Team member Shiv tweeted. “Manchester City is one of the most-watched clubs in the world of football, and they have over 186M followers on social media. The Premier League has 1.8B+ people watching worldwide, and it's insane that the Penguins get to collab with one of the best teams in the world. We're talking about putting @pudgypenguins in front of more eyeballs than the Super Bowl, Olympics, and other major sports combined. If you're still fading penguins, I gotta ask, wyd?”
As the Gazette previously reported, this collaboration is part of the Pudgy Penguins’ larger goal to own the winter months. That strategy has already included appearances at Art Basel, a holiday takeover of the Las Vegas Sphere, a booth at the NHL Winter Classic in Miami, and now this Manchester City collab.
Looking ahead, Pudgy Penguin holders and Web3 at large can expect even more from the Penguins when it comes to partnership and proliferation, according to the brand’s Chief Creative Officer, ChefGoyardi.
“This year we’ve bunkered down on monetization through brand deals, IRL activations, and a some trendy products we’re launching in a bit,” he teased earlier this month.
