“GRADE ME AFTER APEFEST”: Yuga Labs CEO Garga Says He Plans To Discuss ‘Cementing Apes’ Legacy’ At ApeFest Later This Month

As Bored Ape Yacht Club members around the world get ready to ape into Sin City for ApeFest 2025 in Las Vegas later this month, Yuga Labs CEO Garga teased that he plans to share more details about cementing the Apes’ legacy this year!

Over the past two years, keynote speeches from Garga have become as much a part of ApeFest as Bored N Hungry and surprise musical guests. At ApeFest Hong Kong in 2023, Garga announced a partnership with Magic Eden. At ApeFest Portugal in 2024, he and the Yuga Labs team announced ApeChain and launched it that very night. And this year in Las Vegas, he’s planning to discuss the Apes’ legacy.

On Friday, Garga took to the timeline to reply to BAYC member TTony’s question about whether the Yuga Labs team still views Apes as their top priority. To which he replied:

“My goal when I came back as CEO was a couple things. Top of mind was getting Otherside back to shipping in the cadence that it always should have. I'm insanely proud of the work the team has done on that front and it's firing on all cylinders with Figge at the helm. Better than I could do it for sure. But another goal, closer to my heart, was the idea of cementing BAYC's legacy. That's what I intend to share more about at ApeFest.”

 

 

Tonight we do not know what “cementing the Apes’ legacy” entails, but we do know that Garga previously told the community to grade him after ApeFest.

 

While nothing is confirmed about what Garga plans to discuss in Vegas, many Apes think this could mean an update on the in real life Clubhouse.

Adding to that speculation, ApeCo CEO Cameron Kates recently told Now Media’s Matt Medved that finishing the BAYC 2022 roadmap, including the Clubhouse, is top of mind for Garga.

“The club is going to continue to roll forward, there’s just such deep conviction. Greg (Garga) has talked about finishing the roadmap and getting the clubhouse, and making that loop clear," Kates said. "And I think that will always exist regardless of market perception. Apes are always going to be Apes."

 

 

Again, nothing is confirmed, and this is just dot connecting and speculation. But maybe?
