HISTORIC AUCTION : This Crypto Influencer Is Auctioning Off Their Honorary Bored Ape For charity
A piece of Bored Ape Yacht Club and crypto Twitter history has been put up for auction.
The Bored Ape Yacht Club gave an Honorary bored ape to Crypto influencer, Loomdart who, with the help of BAYC member OxWave, is auctioning it off for charity.
The BAYC Honorary Members Collection is made up for 20 unique bored apes given to those who helped bring awareness to the club. While the pieces do not have member privileges.
“Owning it is owning a cool piece of BAYC history, OxWave told the Bored Ape Gazette.
The idea of the charitable auction came to life on July 18th as Loomdart tweeted about wanting his honorary ape to be used by someone fulltime.
“I want my honorary ape to go to someone who wants to use and wear it full time,” Loomdart tweeted. “Is there anyone in the #BAYC community who's trusted and ok with setting up a charity auction for the Ape? (100% of proceeds go to charity of choice) Would do it myself but way too busy.”
Many users recommended BAYC member, OxWave as the ape for the job.
“A few people in the comments suggested me, and I said of course,” OxWave said.
Currently, the top bid for Loomdart’s Honorary Bored Ape is 3.012 Eth or $6,524.08 USD. The current top bidder is Opensea user and BAYC member, UnfrozenCryptoLawyer.
While OxWave has no idea what the honorary ape will be sold for, he told the gazette he and Loomdart are looking forward to making an impact on one of the charities that the community selected.
“No price prediction, I just hope we can make a significant impact in one of these four very important projects. And of course I'd like to thank Loomdart for his donation and his/the community's trust in me to help manage it, OxWave said.
