“IT’S TIME”: Moonbirds Announce That Its Memecoin, $Birb, Will Take Flight on January 28!

The Birb was the word across the NFT space on Friday after Moonbirds announced that its highly anticipated memecoin, $Birb, is taking flight next week.

“It's time,” the project tweeted along with a sizzle reel featuring its new token .”$birb coming on  @solana1.28.26”

 

 

Today’s announcement came just after Moonbirds wrapped up its 24 hour Birbathon livestream, which featured the project’s owner Spencer, intern Pax, and guests like Gary Vee and Luca Netz.

 

During the stream, Netz asked Spencer about $Birb, and while he didn’t share many details, Spencer said he’s looking forward to competing against the biggest memes and businesses in crypto. He also teased that the TGE will have a feather to it.

“We’ve teased birb game 1," Spencer said. “I like to do things that are a little funky, little nerdy, a little heady, so there are some fun things coming up with the roll out there.”

 

As of tonight, there’s still a lot we don’t know about the $Birb TGE, including details around tokenomics. Nothing has been confirmed regarding the airdrop or who may, or may not, qualify for one.

However, Spencer has recently squawked about his plans to make $Birb one of the biggest things in crypto by combining the fun of memes with the seriousness of a real business as part of a blueprint he calls the Birbillions Thesis.

“Memes move people. Companies endure,” Spencer wrote. “Crypto only works when both are true at the same time. Birb is an attempt to formalize that insight. Not by resolving the tension between absurdity and enterprise, but by locking them together. The meme creates velocity. The company creates gravity. Together they thrive.”
