As Bored Ape Yacht Club members continue getting together around the globe, Yuga Labs’ Chief Product Officer Michael Figge is hinting that something even bigger may be coming up.

During Thursday’s Meet at the Clubhouse Space, Figge spoke about how much he and the team have loved seeing Apes come together in real life and teased that a larger event may be in the works for May.

‘Part of the Bored Ape Yacht Club is you do club things,” he said. “I think we are starting to see a lot of that club stuff happen as of last night and there is a lot more coming around the corner. There’s some stuff coming up in May, where we may.. I might be too early to talk about that… But we are trying to get a lot more people together in May and it might require some travel. So hopefully we will be able to talk about that at future Meet at The Clubhouses.”

While nothing has been confirmed, the timing is notable.

Late April and early May mark a major moment for the club, as the BAYC celebrates its fifth anniversary. As the Gazette previously reported, the project’s presale began on April 23, with all 10,000 Bored Apes minting out by May 1, 2021.

Again, while nothing is confirmed about this May event,  the idea of a bigger get together that isn’t ApeFest is not new around the swmap.

Back in August 2023, the club hosted its “Fuck It Saturday” event at Wynwood Oasis in Miami, a Mutant Ape inspired party featuring Applied Primate, ThreadGuy, and A$AP Ferg.

Tonight, primates are left to ponder about what Figgre and the team have planned.

The Gazette will continue to follow this maybe event in May and will let you know when more information becomes available. Stay tuned for updates!
