MoonPay Purchased Seven Bored Apes, A Mutant & Two Serums. Who Will They Onboard Next?

MoonPay, a financial technology company that builds payment infrastructure for crypto, went bananas for apes yesterday, spending hundreds of Eth.

Moonpay purchased seven bored apes, one mutant ape and a M1 and M2 serum yesterday spending 568.68 Eth or $2,445,000 USD.

250 Eth of the 568.68 Eth the company spent was on Bored Ape #6696. Bored Ape #6696 is a six trait trippy fur ape with a sushi chef headband, guaybera shirt and a bored unshaven cigarette mouth. Based on these traits, Bored Ape #6696 is the 903rd most rare ape, according to Rarity Tools.

While anyone spending this much money on apes is newsworthy, Moonpay’s purchases have caught the attention of the entire NFT community. This is because the company has been onboarding several high profile celebrities into the space.

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, MoonPay onboarded rappers Lil Baby and Post Malone and late night host Jimmy Fallon. After these high profile celebrities aped into the club, the BAYC community is wondering who MoonPay will bring in next.

“YO @MOONPAYHQ WE NEED TO KNOW WHAT THE FUCK YOU'RE PLANNING,” BAYC member and notable Twitter personality Fxnction tweeted.

Fellow BAYC member Hotlneblng suggested the company is planning “GLOBAL DOMINATION.” MoonPay replied that its plan is “GLOBAL ADOPTION.”
