'NO CLUB, NO APES': BAYC Member Kiki Travels Nearly 7,000 Miles To The Big Apple To Hang Out With Her Frens Around The Swamp!

From fate to last second flight changes, the stars aligned around the swamp as Bored Ape Yacht Club member Kiki made it to this week’s New York City Apes meetup, even though she lives nearly 7,000 miles away in South Korea!

Earlier this month, BAYC member Kiki saw fellow primate Kraytrain’s tweet about an upcoming event in the Big Apple and knew she had to be there.

“No club, no apes. Wherever apes are at is where I belong,” Kiki told the Gazette. “I saw Kraytrain’s post, and I was already planning to go to Cancun for a friend’s bachelorette, so I thought it would be cool to join the NYC Apes.”

This move was anything but boring. Kiki had to change up her travel plans to get to the meetup in Brooklyn.

“It was last minute thing so had to change my flight schedule but it was whole a lot worth it,” she said. “It’s rare for apes to come out all at once so i thought it would be cool to join!”

And worth it, it was!  Event hosts KrayTrain and Josh Ong brought around 30 Big Apple Apes together at fellow primate and Re_Generates co-founder Jed’s DeStefano’s Steakhouse, where steaks were cooked just right, Ojulo tequila flowed, and early BAYC vibes, the kind that brought people to the swamp back in 2021, were on full display!

“Saying hi to old frens and getting a chance to talk to new apes and actually get to know them,it’s more intimate and memorable to share similar interests together,” Kiki said. “We get each other right away when our normie frens don’t.”

Following the get together in New York, the BAYC took to the timeline to celebrate Apes linking up offline and announced plans to support more than 25 meetups around the globe in the coming weeks.

“From HK to NYC to wherever you are, The Club shows up,” the BAYC tweeted. “We see Apes linking up everywhere around the world. First round’s on Us. Find your people.”

For Kiki, making the trip halfway across the world and changing her plans was a no brainer, because like she said, “no club, no apes.”

Around the swamp, it’s never just about the JPEGs, it’s about the people behind the primates.

The Gazette will continue to follow all the upcoming meetups as the club goes global. Stay tuned for updates.
