OH, THE NFT MARKET IS FRIGHTFUL, BUT THE $APE BURN IS DELIGHTFUL: Frostyz Creates A New Dune Analytics Page To Track ApeCoin Burns!

Oh, the NFT market is frightful, but the $Ape burn is delightful! And now everyone can easily track it thanks to Frostyz!

Deflationary days are ahead for ApeCoin following the end of the token’s staking program, the gas price increase on ApeChain, and the announcement that ApeCo will not only be burning all $Ape used as gas since the chain’s launch in October 2024, but will also be “buying and burning an equal amount of $Ape to what’s burned via gas going forward.”

With the beginning of a new deflationary era for $Ape, OSWiki founder and longtime ApeChain builder Frostyz created a new Dune Analytics dashboard that anyone can use to track ApeCoin burns.

“Created a new Dune dashboard to visualize the burned @apecoin amount,” he tweeted. “Note: Since ApeCo announced that the burned amount needs to be doubled, I did not want to artificially add a factor of 2 to all figures.”

 

 

Frostyz’s ApeCoin Dune dashboard features a “Burned Ape” counter, a total ApeCoin supply tracker, and a projected yearly burn based on the last seven day average of $Ape burned.

At the time of this article’s publication, 257,986 $Ape has been burned so far.

 

 

As the Gazette previously reported, these $Ape burns are just the beginning of a new deflationary era for ApeCoin; one that’s more aligned with token holders than ever before.

“Incentives should line up so ApeCoin wins if Otherside wins, and vice versa,” Yuga Labs CEO Garga said on Friday. “To start, from now on all gas spent on transactions on ApeChain will be burned. So that activity on Otherside permanently reduces the supply of APE. This will be small to start, of course, and not as flashy as staking. But it’s the start of a real economic loop, where value comes from what people build and use. This is just the foundation.
