ORANGE OBLITERATION: Orange Team Won Its First Ever Project Dragon Round Last Night, Defeating The Aquas 3-2
Team Orange obliterated their Aquamarine competition last night during Project Dragon Episode 3, overcoming months of losses and possibly changing the narrative in this epic battle between Bitfizz flavors and background colors going forward!
Friday night was “awkward” for the Aquas as Team Orange, led by their two Titans, Philbacka and Owen, along with strategic help from the Bored Ape Yacht Club’s mascot Curtis, defeated them in three of the night’s five rounds.
Following Orange’s win, the team cracked open an orange Bitfizz and took to the timeline to taunt their Aqua frens, getting some sweet revenge after months of devastating defeats.
“Aqua tried to squeeze Orange, but the juice landed in their eyes,” Orange Team member LadyApe told the Gazette.
Last night’s Project Dragon not only marked Orange Team’s first win over the Aquas, but it was also the first time the game included Titans, which definitely changed the gameplay dynamics and led to momentum swings that we didn’t see in Episodes 1 and 2.
“Thought that was the most engaging @OthersideMeta Project Dragon run so far,” Yuga Labs Co-Founder Gordon Goner tweeted after the match. “Thought the titans made the game a little more exciting, but I could see it leading to balance issues too. Curious what others thought.”
As Orange celebrated their first-ever Project Dragon victory, both teams agreed that last night’s experience was insane and that the game continues to improve month after month.
What a blast tonight in @OthersideMeta Project Dragon,” BAYC member Web3gatsby tweeted. “congrats team orange, enjoy it while you can . The Rail looking very green.”
Following last night’s game, Yuga Labs announced a month-long break from Project Dragon to focus on a virtual ApeFest experience for the community.
“Voyagers, Thanks for joining us and helping bring order to the mayhem that is Meetropolis. Next month, we’ll be hosting a virtual Otherside event during Apefest,” the company tweeted from its Othersidemeta account. “We’ll see you Voyagers in the swamp in October. Project Dragon and any ensuing mayhem will resume in November.”
Yuga Labs CEO Garga then chimed in and said that next month’s ApeFest tie-in and November’s Project Dragon event are going to be insane.
“THANK YOU for tuning into Project Dragon: Episode 3,” Garga tweeted. “We’re taking a one month break on Dragon BUT when we return in November we’ll be debuting a bunch of new stuff. And we will still see you in October on Otherside for a more social experience during ApeFest. Details to come!”
The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow all things Project Dragon and will keep you updated on October’s Otherside ApeFest experience as more information becomes available. Stay tuned for updates!
