Dot by dot and pixel by pixel, something out of the ordi-NORMIE is taking shape in Web3.

On Saturday, NFT enthusiast Adam Weitsman purchased and burned 50 Normies from crypto artist Serc’s newest project, unlocking the ability to radically transform one of the collection’s pixelated avatars into something entirely new.

“What do you do when you want to support one of the best new collections ever to be introduced in Web3 history? You call in a personal favor to one of your favorite digital artists of all time,” Weitsman tweeted. “@lphaCentauriKid  to help you create a grail masterpiece out of 50 burned @normiesART  NFTs I just acquired. Special thank you to @serc1n for your patience, brilliance and guidance. Stay tuned.”

As the Gazette previously reported, Normies launched last month with a unique burn and customize mechanic that lets holders change pixels on one Normie by burning another, reducing the total supply of the collection.

By burning 50 Normies, A.C.K. will now have a significant number of pixel edits to play with, giving the artist the freedom to transform one pixelated person into something anything but normie!

“No pressure,” A.C.K. jokingly tweeted. “ I am enjoying the challenge though! Really interesting way to bring about a collection and anything for you my friend! let’s see what the Muse conspires!”

Tonight, we don’t yet know what A.C.K. will create for Weitsman, but this kind of experimentation is exactly the type of move Serc envisioned when he created the Normies project.

“Incredibly happy and grateful that Normies shaping as i dreamed,” Serc said. “I had an idea: "Let's create something collectively" But after seeing IPFS issues, broken images on the platforms, we had do it "fully on-chain…Normies are not just pfps, two color pixel art It's a movement It's a collective power to create things together. Behind these pfps, we have personalities, feelings, happy moments, sad moments, up and downs. During 17 days, after Normies launched, in our groupchat/discord we built a family. And today they all appreciate me for being successful. Nope, this is not my achievement, this is OUR achievement. And Normies touched blockchain 17 days ago. We have a long path ahead us, we will build more but we will do it together!”

The Gazette will continue to follow all things Normies and will let you know what A.C.K creates. Stay tuned for updates!
