PUFF... PUFF... POSTPONED: Yuga Labs Delays Its BAYC X Scandinavian Tobacco Group Cigar Drop, But It May Be For The Best!

Puff… Puff… Postponed.

On Friday, Yuga Labs' highly anticipated Bored Ape Yacht Club Anniversary Collector's Cigar Box drop in partnership with Scandinavian Tobacco Group was pushed back until next week due to an issue with Tokenproof, but it may be for the best!

 

As the Gazette previously reported, Yuga Labs announced yesterday that it was teaming up with Scandinavian Tobacco Group, one of the world's leading cigar makers, to produce 50 collector's cigar boxes built around the journey of the Club. While everyone was excited to light up, many Apes were concerned they'd likely miss the drop due to the timing and its extremely limited supply.

 

 

After BAYC announced the delay, Yuga Labs CEO Michael Figge took to the timeline and said the technical issue may be a blessing in disguise because it gave him and the team a chance to make this limited edition drop better and fairer for everyone!

“We'll redo this next week - won't be FCFS anymore - all bayc/mayc holders can register for a drawing - we'll pick 50 winners randomly (provably fair) based on the feedback for the drop,” Figge tweeted. “Think this direction is more fair and will lead to happier outcome will let everyone know 24 hours in advance of the new signup time thank you.”
