Some serious monkey business went down at the Bored Ape Yacht Club this morning as a crypto whale aped into a solid gold fur primate.
On Monday, BAYC member PimpCapital purchased Bored Ape #4980 for 530 Eth or $968,000 USD.
Bored Ape #4980 is a seven-trait solid gold fur primate with smoking jacket and a party hat. Based on these traits, Bored Ape #4980 is the 9th most rare primate, according to Rarity Tools.
Following today’s purchase, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to PimpCapital for comment on their buy but did not immediately hear back.
While we do not know why they decided to go for gold this afternoon, we do know that PimpCapital has a penchant for gold fur primates!
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, PimpCapital bought Bored Ape #7090 from BAYC member J1mmy.Eth on February 7th for 800 Eth or $1,304,000 USD.
After today’s purchase, PimpCapital now holds three Bored Apes and three CryptoPunks in their main wallet.
At this time, it is unclear what PimpCapital plans to do next, but one thing is certain: they have a significant amount of ETH at their disposal.
Currently, PimpCapital holds 106.98 Eth or $195,000 USD in their main wallet, according to Etherscan data.
