Q&A: NFT Lab Magazine Wants To Onboard Asia to NFTs& $Ape Via Its Physical Publication!

There is an Ape Improvement Proposal on the ballot this week that’s hot of the press and aims to onboard thousands of new participants into the world of NFTs and ApeCoin via a physical magazine and an expanded online presence!

AIP-314 titled “Beyond the NFT: NFT Lab Magazine’s Plan for Empowering ApeCoin’s Global Community,” is an ecosystem fund allocation proposal written by ApeCoin DAO Contributor and Elite Apes/ NFT Labs Magazine Founder, JasonJape.

“NFT Lab Magazine is a well-established physical publication that has distributed over 20,000 magazines through 4 issues spread across 1,000 locations, reaching over 35,000 readers,” JasonJape wrote. “This proposal aims at promoting Apecoin and Yuga ecosystem news and projects to the existing audience base and beyond. Our strategy includes generating content that spotlights community projects, ApeCoin DAO news, Yuga projects and approved AIPs, thus enriching the ApeCoin ecosystem and drive mass adoptions, potentially increase the $Apecoin and Yuga collections value.”

If passed, The ApeCoin DAO will allocate $92,000 USD to NFT Labs magazine so JasonJape can hire a content team and build a website featuring an online version of the publication’s monthly magazine!

To find out more about NFT Labs Magazine and where JasonJape see’s NFT Lab magazine in the future, the Gazette reached out to him for an interview. Check it out below:

1: Can you tell me what your AIP is all about in a sentence or two?

“Web3 to web2 exposure, all builders and communities deserve to shine especially in Asia.”

2: What inspired you to write this AIP?

“We find it necessary to expand and continue what we do.”

3: What got you interested in making a physical NFT magazine?

“In Asia, people find print media is more valuable than online media. Asian respects and trust print media over the internet.”

4: Can you tell me more about NFT Labs’? How did it start and what has the magazine covered in its first four issues? What were the big stories?

“Imagine 2 years ago of HK. People were skeptical about NFTs , crypto and web3. So we decided to be a prominent media. We featured the Olympic gold medalist Ka Long, the ex-financier of HK government John Tsang, a well known celebrity Leo Ku, launched our music world featuring Kpop group and open campus for our fifth edition. Upcoming is the Apefest edition.”

5: How will this grant help NFT Labs grow and expand?

“Absolutely, we can finally hire someone to take care of it full time. It has been community driven, volunteer and donations ever since. Having a grant would make us sustainable.”

6: Where do you see NFT Labs a year from now?

Expanded into more countries in Asia. Having local web3 communities to manage the local contents.

7:What should $Ape holders know about you and the magazine before they vote?

“We are a humble community and please check out our milestones and hope we earn your trust about our capabilities.”

8: Do you have anything else you’d like to add or say?

“Whether bull or bear, we'll always share, Having you all here, we're beyond compare.”

The window to vote on AIP-314 is currently open and ApeCoin DAO Contributors have until next Wednesday, October 4th, to vote on this proposal.

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow AIP-314 and will let you know how the DAO votes on this NFT Lab’s proposal! Stay tuned for updates!
