Q&A: This AIP Wants To Make A Beta Tester Group Within The ApeCoin DAO To Help Creators Build

As the ApeCoin builders continue to embrace the 'weird, hard, and new,' this Ape Improvement Proposal aims to establish a new beta testing group within the DAO that will assist creators in achieving their goals.

AIP-300 titled “Create Custom “Beta Tester” Forum Badge,” is a process proposal written by ApeCoin DAO Contributor Hangout and ApeCoin DAO Secretary, Vulkan.

In AIP-300, Hangout and Vulkan aim to establish a new testing Best Testing Group within the DAO that will try new tech and products created by ApeCoin DAO Contributors. These beta testers will also receive a new designation on Discourse, so others know their contributions to the community.

“The Beta Testing Group’s primary goal is to offer feedback that enhances project quality and ensures the community’s voice is heard, aligning perfectly with the principle of Collective Responsibility, leaving everything better than we found it,” Hangout wrote.

The creation of Hangout and Vulkan’s new Beta Tester group and badge would not cost the DAO anything and they would begin work on it immediately following the proposal’s approval, according to AIP-300.

To find out more about this beta testing group and the impact it would have on the ecosystem, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to hangout for an interview. Check it out below:

In a sentence or two can you sum up your AIP?

“In an effort to embody community values and enhance collaboration, this proposal suggests creating a custom “Beta Tester” forum badge, symbolizing legitimacy and fostering a sense of belonging among its members, who will offer feedback on projects for free. The badge will enhance engagement within the Beta Testing Group and mark the beginning of outreach efforts to external communities, emphasizing collaboration and cooperation with the DAO community, all at no additional cost.”

How’d you come up with this AIP?

Vulkan originally came up with the Beta Testing idea back in January this proposal grows out of that original idea and aims to enable the beta testing group to have more positive impact.”

Why does the DAO need a Beta Tester group?

“ApeCoin DAO needs a Beta Tester group to help enhance project quality, ensure community voices are heard, and promote collective responsibility and transparency. Additionally, the group fosters community engagement and aims to expand outreach and collaboration with external communities, aligning with the DAO’s goals.”

If passed how can $Ape holders get involved with the Beta Tester group?

“If passed anyone who wants to get involved just needs to get in touch with me either directly or on the beta testing thread we will spin up in case of the successful passing of the AIP.”

Do you have anything else you’d like to add or say?

“Core thing we really need is projects to put themselves forward to testing! Anyone who is interested to have the community beta test them please do get in touch!”

The window to vote on AIP-300 is currently open and ApeCoin DAO Contributors have until Wednesday, September 6th, to cast their coins.

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow AIP-300 and will let you know how the DAO votes on this proposal later this week. Stay tuned for updates!
