Q&A: This Artist Wants To Make An $Ape Funded Gallery Filled With Yugaverse Sculptures!

This sculptor wants to chisel and carve $Apes way into the art world with his Ape Improvement Proposal to make a physical gallery filled $Ape centric statues!

AIP-344 titled Moving gallery for the DAO Is an ecosystem allocation fund proposal written by ApeCoin DAO Contributor and artist, Victor Tacher.

“Establishing a moving gallery for the DAO, showcasing art sculptures of the ApeCoin logo, the DAO’s mascot, and selected Yuga Assets,” Tacher wrote. “The primary goal is to engage and adopt a broader audience beyond web3 through exhibitions at galleries, high-end shopping centers, museums and future DAO events, while also offering educational content. Success will be measured through real-time analytics provided by QR codes, including scan numbers, locations, unique scans, page views and more.”

Take a look at some of his part Bored Ape Yacht Club inspired work below:

In total, Tacher is asking the ApeCoin DAO to allocate 88,577 $Ape so he can sculpt 6 different Apecoin Skulls, 1 Apecoin DAO Mascot from AIP 289, 5 Life-size BAYC/MAYC busts, and 1 Full body BAYC/MAYC. Tacher estimates that these pieces will take four months to make. If passed, Tacher will showcase his works in Mexico City to start, followed by stints in the United States at galleries such as JRNY NFT Gallery in Las Vegas.

To find out more about his art and why the ApeCoin DAO should fund a moving galley, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to Tacher for an interview. Check it out below:

1. Can you sum up your AIP in a sentence or two?

“Onboarding new DAO members through a moving gallery. Measuring success in real time with QR codes and analytics.”

2. What inspired you to write this proposal?

“I saw many art studios applying this exact same strategy to grow their reach and thought it would be a perfect fit to expand the awareness of the DAO.”

3. How did you get into sculpting and art?

“Got inspired by watching other people's artwork and new methods of making art. I thought I could assemble a team that would make the best artwork for this community.”

4. What impact do you think art can have on crypto?

“Art & technology are the best way to draw people's attention and start a movement. The apes artwork and NFT technology are the culprits for the existence of BAYC, the DAO and $APE. Art came first, the movement after that. Same thing has to happen to expand the movement. Without art the whole community would not exist.”

5. Why is art a good way to onboard people to Web3 and the DAO?

“First you get their attention with art. Then, you captivate them with the idea of the DAO by showing them short and aesthetic information. Finally you onboard by repeating the steps over and over.”

6. What would you like to say to people before they vote?

“. To read the full proposal before voting and to reflect about the answer on question #4.”

The window to vote on AIP-344 is currently open and ApeCoin DAO Contributors have until tomorrow night, November 29th at 9 P.M. EST to cast their coins.

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow AIP-344 and will let you know how the DAO votes tomorrow night. Stay tuned for updates!
