SOMETHING SELFIE: Yuga Labs Head Engineer James Hall Confirms That Otherside’s Popular “Koda Cam” Feature Will Be Coming Back “Soon.”

Smile and wave Voyagers, smile and wave! The days of basic Otherside screenshots may be numbered after Yuga Labs Head Engineer James Hall teased the return of something selfie earlier today.

 

Since the launch of Nexus last week, thousands of Otherside photos featuring hundreds of collections’ 3D models have been filling the timeline. But as more pics popped up, longtime Bored Ape Yacht Club member Prince started thinking about a beloved  feature from long ago, dubbed the Koda Cam, and asked wen is it coming back?

 

“Hey @OthersideMeta when are we getting the selfie cams back,” Prince tweeted. “The art of the Otherside Nexus deserves to be all over the timeline, from all the biomes, Koda lores, and avatars! Bring back the cams”

 

 

Shortly after Prince’s post, Hall quote tweeted him with a meme of a mouse and the word “Soon,” confirming that the popular Koda Camera feature's return is in the works!

 

 

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, taking selfies with a the Koda Cam was a community favorite back in March 2024, when Yuga Labs first invited BAYC members to explore the swamp during its “Apes Come Home” event.

 

 

At the time, Apes were encouraged to explore the swamp and take selfies galore, and they did!

 

 

“THE BEST FEATURE OF APES COME HOME IS THE KODA CAM AND IT'S NOT EVEN CLOSE,” BAYC member JBond tweeted at the time. “Roaming around, meeting apes, snapping selfies. It's ApeFest all over again!”

  

Tonight, we still don’t know exactly when the Koda Cam will return to Otherside, but one thing is certain, everyone is excited to snap some pics! “posting selfies in otherside for a badge era,” TigerIsFine tweeted.
