Whether you’re an artist in New York City or a developer in rural Africa, ApeChain is for you!

Bored Ape Yacht Club member and ByAutistic founder David, along with Thrive Protocol and ThankApe, brought hope and opportunity to a small town in Ghana earlier this month as they hosted the first ever ApeChain Africa Hackathon in Tamale, proving once again that ApeChain is on top!
“We traveled over 9 hours from Ghana’s capital to the northern region, a place often overlooked, yet full of untapped potential,” David told the paper. “What we found was mindblowing. it was raw, brilliant talent waiting to be discovered.”
In Tamale, David and his team met over 150 young minds hungry to build, eager to learn about ApeChain, and ready to make their mark on the digital world.
“Hosting a hackathon there wasn’t just an event it was a mission,” David said. “It felt like digging for gold in the dirt and striking treasure. But more than that, it was a powerful act of social impact, bringing real opportunities to a marginalized community that’s too often left behind.”
From that weekend, 12 dApps emerged and three were crowned the event's winners: 1. BlockfinaX, a platform connecting global stakeholders. 2. Univault, an AI-powered document storage solution. And 3. Cetawave, a goal based savings app!

Inspired by what he saw, and energized by the potential of onboarding more African builders into Web3, David announced his goal to create the ApeChain Developer Hub, a permanent space for innovation and opportunity in Africa.
“Now imagine the capital and then imagine the whole of Africa,” David said. “This is why we are proposing to build a psychical hub, the Apechain Developer Hub, a permanent home for builders. A psychical space for innovation. Because African builders aren’t lacking talent, they are just lacking the opportunities. And now the opportunity is here. From one hackathon to a growing developer community, this is just the beginning.”

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow David and his work in Africa and will let you know when more information becomes available about the proposed ApeChain Developer Hub and how you can get involved. Stay tuned for updates!
