The Ape Assembly Is Electing a Spokesperson& A Coordinator This Week. Here's What You Need To Know
There’s a condensed-election season taking place at the ApeCoin DAO this week as the Ape Assembly votes for its first Spokesperson and Coordinator!
Things are moving at the ApeCoin DAO as the Governance Working Group looks to get the Ape Assembly up and running by the end of the month, beginning with electing the group’s leadership.
Following a speedy nomination period that ended last night, three Apes have thrown their hats in the ring and are running for the position of Spokesperson at the Ape Assembly, and another four Apes have nominated themselves to run for the committee’s Coordinator position.
The three $Apes running for Spokesperson of the Ape Assembly are Evil (RageOfPotato), Moca_Bond007 (James_LympoDAO) , and BigBull (KapitalCrypto).
The Ape Assembly Spokesperson will be the committee’s official representative and they will be responsible for collaborating with other Working Groups, ensuring transparency in the Ape Assembly, and reporting the committee’s activities to the Governance Working Group and the broader ApeCoin DAO.
As these three Apes run for the Spokesperson position, I3, Srini (Srinigoes), 1liyah (the1liya), and BoJangleGuy are running for the Coordinator position.
The Ape Assembly’s Coordinator will be responsible for taking notes during Ape Assembly meetings, coordinating meeting times and agendas, and assisting the Spokesperson and other Ape Assembly members in their communication efforts.
Both the Spokesperson and Coordinator roles will pay 420.69 $Ape per month and the office holders are expected to work 8-10 hours per week, according to Governance Working Group Steward TigerIsFine.
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the Ape Assembly is a governing body of highly active governance participants within the ApeCoin Ecosystem that was established as part of AIP 239 and controls a monthly budget of $10,000 USD. To join the Ape Assembly, ApeCoin DAO contributors must have either have a Discourse Trust Level 2+, own 50,000+ $Ape, or have voted in at least 50% of AIP votes, according to AIP-239.
