The BAYC And Several Of Its Members Make Fortune Magazine's NFTy 50 List. The Full Story Here:
Fortune Magazine came out with its top “NFTy 50” list highlighting the most influential people in the NFT space and the Bored Ape Yacht Club and several of its members made the cut.
“NFTs—new kinds of digital collectibles—caught fire this year,” Fortune Magazine writes. “In a new list, Fortune ranks the most influential builders, creatives, and influencers on the scene. Meet the NFTy 50.”
The BAYC was ranked as the 41st most influential person/ group in the NFT space, according to the report. BAYC members Jimmy McNeils, Gary Vee, Mark Cuban and Roham Gharegozlu also made the list at numbers 34, 10, 4 and 3 respectively.
The Article does not go into detail on how the list was made, or how they ranked the people and groups.
“The list itself is questionable but I sincerely hope the numeric position doesn't imply an order ranking of people or projects influencing the NFT community,” BAYC member ClydesdaleSpartan. Eth tweeted. “If it does you should probably never do this ever again.”
While many in the NFT community took issue with the list, others thought it was okay.
“Bit of a mixed bag I agree,” Twitter user Annhelga.eth tweeted. “Got some names right tho.”
While not everyone was happy with the list, it is just the latest example of NFTs and the BAYC making into mainstream news sources.
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the BAYC was mentioned in articles by Reuters and Forbes.
