THE REBOOT BEGINS: HV-MTL Holders Can Activate Their Bots And Claim Their Amps Tomorrow To Start The Journey From EVO1 To EVO2!

HV-MTL holders, get amped! The project’s reboot begins tomorrow with the bot’s Amp claim, which is the key to upgrading them from their EVO1 to EVO2 forms!
On Thursday, HV-MTL owner and entrepreneur Adam Weitsman took to the timeline and announced that every holder will be able to activate their bots and pick up their highly anticipated Amps starting this Friday.
“Tomorrow at 12 PM EST holders will be able to activate their HV-MTLs or claim their AMPs,” he tweeted along with a step by step guide video. “The website is fully mobile friendly there’s no need for a desktop to participate in this activation. All actions can be completed using a delegate wallet directly from your phone. https://hv-mtl.com Below is a walkthrough video that guides you through the entire process.”
For those who are new to the HV-MTL project, Amps have been part of the collection’s lore since 2023 when holders earned them by playing a game called The Forge, where they ran vote for vote campaigns, entered the Rift, and cleaned up countless oil spills.
In the new claim and activation, there are three types of Amps, Beam, Hack, and Slash, and they come in five classes ranging from Common to Legendary, according to the team.
“No matter what type or class you have, they all serve the same purpose, helping your HV-MTL evolve into EV02,” the collection said. “This marks the start of a new chapter for the HV-MTL universe and Amps are your frist step forward.”
Note, tomorrow’s claim and activation will not transform anyone’s HV-MTLs into EVO2, but it is an important first step toward everything that Weitsman and his partner Gabe are envisioning for the ecosystem going forward.
“On December 5th we’re not just burning we’re burning and activating HV-MTLs,” Gabe previously told the paper. “The way it works is your old HV-MTL gets burned and you receive the same HV-MTL with no AMPs plus the AMPs.”
To eventually evolve your HV-MTL, holders will need six Amps. If your bot didn’t earn any during the game when back when, fear not. You’ll be able to purchase them on the secondary.
Holders will have between December 5th and January 5th, 2026 to claim their Amps.
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Weitsman and Gabe purchased the HV-MTL collection from Faraway Gaming Studios in September with the promise of top tier devs, great art, and HV-MTL’s inclusion in Otherside.
Looking ahead, after the Amp claim and activation, Weitsman and Gabe plan to eventually let every HV-MTL holder make a choice, either collect six Amps to upgrade their bot, or burn it for a new collection called HV-MTL Pets, which will be the Lil Pudgy or Mutant Ape equivalent to HV-MTL’s Bored Ape or Pudgy Penguin.
We do not yet know when holders will need to make this choice, but we do know it will be sometime after the January 5th, 2026 deadline for the Amp claim and activation.
