WHAT DOES THE FOX SAY?: MetaMask Announces That Reward Program Participants Just Earned An Otherside Ready Avatar

What does the fox say? Free Otherside avatars.

Mutant Monday was insane around the swamp and beyond after popular wallet provider MetaMask announced that users participating in the platform’s recent rewards program will soon be breaking on through to the Otherside with exclusive avatars.

“.@othersidemeta exclusive avatars Every user who got to level 2 and up qualifies for an exclusive avatar NFT that can be used as a playable character in The Otherside,” Metamask wrote. “And every user level 4 and up qualifies for a second, more exclusive avatar NFT.  @apecoin @apechainhub.”

As the Gazette previously reported, MetaMask launched Season 1 of its rewards program in January, aiming to reward users who trade perps or swap tokens through the MetaMask mobile app and browser extension. Participation required users to opt in.

At this time, it’s unclear how many users took part in Season 1 or how many qualified for a free Otherside avatar. However, the initiative could become one of the largest onboarding opportunities for the metaverse yet.

According to Token Terminal, MetaMask had roughly 196,000 active users last month. So if even just a small percentage of those users qualify for an avatar and decide to check out the Otherside, the impact could be huge.

In a recent post, Yuga Labs CEO Garga revealed that around 1,200 users ape into the Otherside each day.

This means that if even 1% of MetaMask’s active users (1,960) engage with the metaverse, it could double Otherisde’s daily active users.

The Gazette is working to learn more about these MetaMask powered Otherside avatars and will keep you posted on when these new frens begin making their way into the swamp. Stay tuned for updates.
