“WHAT IF I SAID SOON”: Yuga Labs' James Hall Says Poker On Otherside Is still In The Works!

You’ve got to know when to hold ’em and know when to fold ’em around the swamp after Yuga Labs Head Engineer teased that poker is coming to the Otherside “soon.”

From Michael Figge’s Otherside update to new club member Dalethaniel introducing himself, the vibes were immaculate at the year’s first Meet at the Clubhouse space yesterday. But the moment that really got Apes going was James Hall assuring everyone that poker is still in the works.

 

“what if I said soon,” he said when asked wen poker.

 

While Hall didn’t share details on whether Voyagers will be able to play for ApeCoin, or what “soon” actually means, who do know that poker on Otherside has been a priority for Yuga Labs for some time. The team has long positioned it as a staple of the swamp, on par with Bubbles and Otherdeed Development Kit-created experiences like Bathroom Blitz.

Although poker hasn’t gone live yet, Apes have already gotten a glimpse of what the game could look like around the swamp.

As the Gazette previously reported, the Web3 world was invited to Otherside back in August 2024 to play some poker and watch a charity game where Captain Trippy won $45,000 USD for Made By Apes charity By Autistic, besting Garga, Gordon Goner, Tomato, Figge, Adam Weitsman, OSF, MachiBigBrother, and PP Man!
