WHAT NOW?: Yuga Labs Announced That HV-MTL Mechs Amp Claim& EV02 Evolution Is Coming In 2024!

HV-MTL Holders will be able to claim their AMPs and evolve their Mechs to their EV02 forms next year!

Things were anything but boring around the Bored Ape Yacht Club on Tuesday as the community got a new ‘glimpse at the road ahead’ after Yuga Labs tweeted that it has added two new roadmap stops to its MDvMM website.

At this time, the MDvMM website roadmap states that HV-MTL Holders will be able to claim their Mechs’ Amps in early 2024 and then they will be able to evolve their Mechs into their EV02 forms in Spring 2024.

While we do not know when Yuga Labs plans to let HV-MTL Holders claim their AMPs, we do know that the Mechs evolution to EV02 will take place sometime between March 1, 2024 and May 31, 2024, according to Calendar Best’s Spring 2024 dates.

Following Yuga Labs’ post, the company’s Chief Gaming Officer, Spencer Tucker, took to Twitter and said that Yuga Labs decided to delay EV02 to address feedback they received from the community during the HV-MTL Forge earlier this year.

“We are taking what we learned and heard and applying it for EVO2, yes this will means a bit of a delay but we intend to ensure the next set of experiences are excellent and leverage the insights and time to supervise and delight our Collectors and players.”

Today’s AMP claim and Mech evolution announcements come one day after Yuga Labs updated the HV-MTLs’ metadata finalizing the creatures Base and Effective Power Scores.

“Listen up HVs, you can now refresh your Metadata to view your Base & Effective Power Scores along with Shard Leaderboard & Max Energy Modifiers,” Yuga Labs tweeted yesterday. “Keep in mind that these Modifiers do not carry any additional utility outside of the effect they have on your Final Power Score. The Effective Power Score factors in your Base Power Score along with Shard Leaderboard & Max Energy Modifiers. The AMP Modifier and thus Final Power Score earned for a specific HV will be reflected in the Metadata after upcoming activations.”

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Mechs Base and Effective Power Scores, along with the number of AMPs that HV-MTL Holders eventually add to their robots, will all play a role in the creatures final Power Scores.

"Any HV will be able to burn a minimum of 3 AMPs and up to 6 AMPs that will result in additional Power Score modifiers,” Yuga Labs explained on October 25th. “The number and rarity of AMPs burned will come into play as Hvs make their way into Legends of the Mara.”

Along with the next year’s AMP claim, Mechs evolution, and the HV-MTL collection’s eventual inclusion in Legends of the Mara, we also know that the robtic creatures will play a role in Yuga Labs’ new mobile game that will debut sometime next year, according to Garga.

“I know we just wrapped up forge, and we’ve had something under our belts for a while here," Garga said at ApeFest 2023. "So, we have a partnership on a mobile first cross platform game coming in 2024 that’s been in development for over two years. I think it’s pretty sick and I think we are going to have a lot of fun all together. And don’t worry, it's skill based and there’s no voting. And obviously Apes Doggos, HVs, and mutants are coming along for the ride. We’re stoked for that.”

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow the Mechs and will keep you posted on all things HV-MTL. Stay tuned for updates!
